Infections and immune dysfunction are deeply interconnected, but the experts who investigate and manage them often work through separate research and clinical frameworks. We are coming together to build common ground around the patients and scientific questions that require our fields to work together, for better patient health.
The programme will span from essential infection-specific immunological pathways and their pathological impairment in disease, to infection-triggered autoimmunity and inflammation, often facilitated by underlying errors of immunity. It will also highlight emerging diagnostics, and novel targeted and cellular therapeutic strategies.
